In today’s rapid development information age, mathematics as a culture, mathematical thinking is everywhere. Mathematics education has become the consensus because it plays an important role in the quality of talent cultivation. And mathematical literacy of college students is an important part of their overall literacy.Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education recently issued a "high school mathematics curriculum standards", the already clearly teaching mathematics culture to be carried out at the secondary level. The basic idea of the course clear that "mathematics is an important part of human culture. Mathematics curriculum should adequately reflect the history, application and development trend of mathematics, the role of mathematics in promoting social development, social needs of mathematics, role in promoting social development. Mathematical sciences ideology, mathematics aesthetic value, mathematician innovation.Mathematics curriculum should help students to understand the role of mathematics in the development of human civilization, and gradually form a correct view of mathematics. For this reason, high school mathematics curriculum promoted cultural values embodied mathematics and proposed ’mathematical culture’ learning requirements, establish the topic of ’Selection of the history of mathematics’ and so on.In this context, it has a good reality sense to combined the high school students’ mathematics literacy, deeply study of high school mathematics attainment situation, to improve math literacy of high school students. At the same time, it provides a strong theoretical basis for the necessity of the mathematics culture teaching of high school teachers.In this thesis, expounded mathematical literacy theory by literature analysis. Mainly analysis the concept of mathematical literacy, characteristics and constituents. Then put the high school students as an object, systematic analysis the overall level of literacy of high school mathematics, different grades and gender differences in mathematical literacy of high school students through questionnaires. Got the following conclusions:1. The majority of high school students have a certain mathematical literacy, but the level is general.2. There are obvious cultural differences between grade 1 and grade 2 of high school students. High School students in grade2 is significantly better than grade 1, but there was no significant difference between grade2 and grade3.3. Mathematical literacy in high school students gender difference is not obvious.there was no significant difference between boys and girls. But at the mathematical literacy status, the boys slightly better than girls in mathematical literacy status, math scores from cultural knowledge and mathematics cultural awareness.According to the theory and empirical investigation re development. In Chapter IV presents the mathematical literacy of high school students to improve specific measures and programs. Specifically, to seize the students teaching of mathematics culture, introducing case teaching in the classroom teaching process, to creat the classroom teaching situations with the mathematical culture.
