Huang Zongxi is a great enlightenment thinker, educationalist in the transition times of Ming and Qing Dynasty. His academic thought is based on Wang Yangming’s thought "attaining conscience"and his teacher Liu Zongzhou’s thought "self-supervision" of learning, and then created his own unique ideological system. Through his entire life, Huang Zongxi is engaged in education activities in a long-term,and cultive Qing Dynasty of eastern Zhejiang.He developed a complete set of enlightenment educational theories, and made critical influence to bourgeoisie in Modern China and represented a milestone in China’s educational history.This paper mainly includes the following parts:Chapter 1 is an introduction.It includes significance of this subject study, gives a inclusion about the present study of Wang Zhongxi’s educational thought at home and oversea and then makes a definition distinction. Finally it introduces reference research process and method of this paper.Chapter 2 gives an introduction of Huang Zongxi’s life, teaching activities as well as his works. It will present Huang Zongxi’s whole life from his youth, partisan times, anti-Qing times,and teaching the classics times. And then it talks about his works.Chapter 3 describes the origin of Huang Zongxi’s enlightenment thought. Firstly, it introduces the his living society. It mainly analysis the social situation in the transition of Ming-Qing Dynasty from political corruption, economical dissimilation, the movement of citizens and peasants, the affair of Qing army occupied Shanhaiguan, and western culture shock perspectives. And next it discusses about Huang Zongxi’s personal factor and original educational thought from philosophy, economy and political enlightment.Chapter 4 performs the main content and influence of Huang Zongxi’s educational thought. It analyses from his educational content, teaching principles, teaching methods, talents, schools and teachers. His educational content includes economy and history, poetry and benefit study. Teaching principle contains combining theory with practice and benefit study. Teaching methods embodies question and debate. Talents issue asks for reforming the imperial examination and promoting education. Schools issue upholds on reforming the education system popularize education and realize the ideal "discussing government affairs at school". Teachers issue presents from teacher’s function, appointment, role, and the relationship between the teachers and students.Chapter 5 discusses the historical role, influence and historical limitation of Huang Zongxi’s educational thought.Finally, the conclusion gives an outline of Huang Zongxi’s enlightenment educational thought. And his educational thought influenced the later generations and had a direct significance in current educational reforment.
