A Comparative Study On The Serve Skill Of "Four Golden Flower" In The 2010 China Tennis Open

In tennis games, service is the only skill that cannot be controlled by opponent. Its speed, angle, placement, the stand or fall of rotation determine game trenddirectly.From the developing trend of today’s women’s tennis, service has become one of the important factors to win in the game. Especially in nowadays since women’s physical strength varies a great deal, serve can even help athletes win the game quickly. With the powerful service Serena Williams is getting more victories and has become the top one of the whole world. It also makes the coaches and athletes to focus more research on serving skills. Moreover this was why Li Na still chose to change her service skill at the a ge of 31.In this article,the serve tactics of four famous women tennis players, including Li Na, Zhang Shuai, ZhengJie and PengShuai,will be analyzed, who attended the 2013 China Open by literature review, video observation, statistics and logical analysis, especially focusing on the service grip, service average, the speed and angle of the first service and the different tactics of first and second service when facing different opponents. The findings are concluded: 1, the four women’s tennis players in our country mainly use Eastern backhand grip and throw the ball and backswing mainly with no pause and serve mainly with step touch. 2, Our players serve with the speed of 152 km/h averagely, which is much slower than the foreign female players who serve with the speed of 165 km/h averagely. Our best record is 171 km/h, which is served by Li Na, with the lowest speed of 130km/h, which is served by ZhengJie. 3, In terms of the successful rate of first service, the highest is made by Li Na while the lowestis made by ZhengJie, which is 10% lower than Li.Both are lower than the foreign female players. 4, in terms of second serves, four female players take over50% on average by topspin serve, which is almost the same compared with the international average rate. 5, in terms of the ACE rate, an average of four athletes at a rate of 0.98%, which is not satisfied. The highest is only 2.13%, which is taken by Li, while ZhengJie is 0%. This means the ACE rate is not good for the four players. 6, In terms of neutral point choice, in the partition, four athletes outside rate is higher than inside rate; Second area inside rate is higher than outside rate, it is sent to the opponent’s forehand receiver position, this distribution is not very reasonable. 7,In terms of the second serve placement choice, in the partitions, four athletes’ inside ratesaregenerally higher than outside rate. Second district of the second serve placement is a reasonable choice. 8,Our players perform good in the deuce court, advantage court and the first and second service successful rate with the average success rate of over 50% and ZhengJie owns the highest success rate of nearly 100% in her second service.
