Teacher’s teaching ability of high and low, directly embodies the teachers’ quality of high and low, also have important influence on the improvement of teaching quality. Teachers teaching ability refers to the use of specific teaching material in teaching activities, the ability to complete the teaching mission, including teachers ability of organization and design, implementation, control, check to assess ability, etc. Yunnan is a multi-ethnic province, national education is an important part of the whole education system in yunnan province. Especially in the countryside and the frontier of the rural poor, due to the geographical environment, economic and social development level and other conditions, education development relative lag, the teachers’ whole quality and urban teachers also there is a big gap, the new curriculum reform and the development of teachers’ teaching ability put forward higher request, so promote yunnan ethnic minority areas rural middle school teachers’ teaching ability, promote the teacher professional development, to adapt to the new curriculum reform, the ascension of the quality of rural education in ethnic minority areas in yunnan province and yunnan has positive significance to the healthy development of the education system.This paper on the basis of relevant theoretical research, the overall situation of middle school geography education in ethnic minority areas in yunnan province and the status of teachers to make analysis and summary, clear the teachers’ teaching in the countryside and the background, summarizes the yunnan geography education environment on the impact of teachers’ teaching, with 48 from yunnan, state differently in rural middle school geography teachers as investigation object, by the method of questionnaire investigation and interview, the basic situation of teachers, teaching organization design ability, teaching skills, teaching evaluation ability check several investigation, because of teachers’ education ideas and teaching attitude affects the development of the teachers’ teaching ability, so this paper also to the teachers’ education concept and teaching attitude to do the research, in order to more fully understand and grasp the current situation of teachers’ teaching abilities, on the basis of the investigation concluded the yunnan ethnic minority areas the problems existing in the rural middle school geography teachers teaching ability, including single teaching means and teaching evaluation and teaching material analysis ability is not strong, such as innovation ability to ascend.In ethnic minority areas in yunnan province under the background of education, according to the present situation of teachers’ teaching ability in the development of the teachers’ teaching ability of path of internal control and external control theory, from the government, education and training institutions, school teachers, teachers’ personal influence the four aspects of the effective path to achieve, is put forward to strengthen the government’s protection and support, to play a fundamental role education institutions and schools to do a good job of teacher development platform optimization, teachers strive to improve the capacity of independent development of four paths to realize teachers’ teaching ability development strategy.
