The world has increasingly becoming aware of the importance of teachers’ professional development. The new curriculum reform of basic education provides a truly monumental challenge and opportunity to teachers’ professional development. The expectation from school and society for teachers is higher and higher. Lifelong learning becomes teachers’ basic way of life. The emergence and development of quality education have made great contribution to the improvement of teachers’ quality learning. How to promote teachers’ quality learning becomes a serious problem to be solved.There is a general agreement that school-based training is the main way to promote teachers’ professional development, and the main form of school teachers’ quality learning. A number of practical researches on school-based training have been made, but problems such as the lack of pertinence and effectiveness still exist. Teacher professional development schools have accumulated rich experience in aspects of training contents, training patterns and so on, which enhances the effectiveness of school-based training and promotes teachers’ quality learning. Teacher professional development schools accumulated a good experience and practices. The analyzing of the typical experience and commonness of teacher professional development schools can undoubtedly provide reference and enlightenment to other schools.Six teacher professional development schools in Fengxian district engaged in this study. There were four research methods in total are adopted to investigate the current situation of school-based training of the six teacher professional development schools and the situation of teacher quality learning, and the four research methods were documentary method, interview, questionnaire survey and field trips to schools separately. This thesis aims at providing some new inspiration for other schools through analyzing and learning teachers’ professional development schools ’ school-based training experience.The thesis falls into four sections as follows: The first part of this paper describes the current situation and significance of the study, and defines some fundamental conceptions and gives a literature review. The second part of this thesis describes four researches methods such as documentary method, interview, questionnaire survey and field trips to schools. To be specific, these four methods were used to study the current the situation of teacher professional development and summarize the limits and experience of school-based training. The survey shows some common experience of teacher professional development school improving teachers’ quality learning. To be short, teachers’ training needs, individual training, teachers’ inner driving force and scientific researches are stressed. Problems such as lack of training courses and institutionalization need to be solved. The third part offers some suggestions on how to promote high quality learning through school-based training. The fourth part analysis reflection and prospect, including the following aspects : system, contradiction between working and learning,personalization and possibility of the future growth.
