In the process of learning second language, students often encounter new words, once students come across a new word,they just choose to looking at dictionary, this will never develop their Chinese ability. Therefore, using various strategies in teaching words have been sold a lot of problems in Chinese vocabulary teaching. Guessing is kind of strategy that we usually use. This text chooses elementary and intermediate stage on the basis of the Thai students as the research object, analysis the use of guessing situation by investigating. The main contents of this paper include the following aspects:The first part:introduction, this part mainly introduces the research significance of the topic, research status, research object and research methods.The second part:Thailand students in elementary and intermediate level guessing investigation, mainly including the design of the questionnaire, data sources, research objective. Analyze survey results through understand the basic information of subjects and by investigate Thailand students’ guessing situation. In the survey, by comparative analysis optain how much do different levels of Thailand students grasp Chinese language and the difference between two languages.And the Thailand students’ guessing the correct rate, error rate, rate of guessing weakness are explained respectively.The third part:through questionnaires and interviews to analysis the impact factors of Thailand students to guess the word. The primary and secondary level students in Thailand encounter strange words, will use the methods to understand the word guessing. In each stage, the students of Thailand are analyzed and discussed in the aspects of syntactic knowledge, internal structure of morpheme, Chinese character knowledge and context of up and down. Through the investigation and analysis, can understand the primary level and intermediate level of Thai students guess the word, in order to lead teaching ideas, and put forward some suggestions to use the word guessing.The fourth part:in view of the above analysis draws the conclusion of this research, and put forward some teaching suggestions.
