| The family is an essential unit of the society, and it is just as cells consist of a human body as well. Under this circumstance, family background plays an important role throughout its members’ lifetime. There are lots of related literature reviews doing researches to understand the relations between family background and students ‘Chinese academic performance, like James S C. has already mentioned this relation in his earlier study.This thesis discussed how four elements included in family background affect students’ academic achievement, which are family social status, economic conditions, cultural context and living conditions, then analyze the research results. I took students in Chiang Mai Wattanon Thaipayap High School as my research samples and also wrote questionnaires to uphold the whole study. In terms of technology issues, I collected, processed and analyzed data with Excel. Moreover, since this thesis gave out the final findings with descriptive analysis and mean comparisons, the other statistical software which is called Statistic Package for Social Science(SPSS) was really vital to the whole research.In the initial stage, in chapterⅠ, the research focused on illustrate the aim and related background, it also included some literatures and other scholars’ researches. In chapter Ⅱ, based on the for elements which mentioned before, a deeper analysis on relations between family background and students’ academic performance as well as their characteristics were made so as to provide a more specific and precise findings to support my own research. The thesis also gave an overview of connections between students’ academic achievement of Chiang Mai Wattanon Thaipayap High School and the potential factors. Applying to the actual teaching condition,I treated students in this school as my respondents for these samples so as to guide me searching more in my further study. In chapter Ⅲ, the thesis propose some new measures guiding readers to find more useful and meaningful suggestions applying into their own personal Chinese learning conditions. Besides, it also raise people’s awareness of paying more attention on relations between family background and academic Chinese learning achievements. |
