The family background of college students refers to the original family environment.It’s a complex concept,including the background of the regional household registration of his family,the economic strength of the individual family,the cultural atmosphere,the level of education,the process of growing up from childhood to adulthood and so on.With the transformation of national economy,culture and politics,however,the college students who came from the poor family often encountered the dilemma of individual transformation and academic achievement.With the popularization of higher education and the expansion of university enrollment at the beginning of the century,students of different backgrounds enter the same university.In the process of learning and living together,they also show gaps in academic achievement,professional accomplishment,practical ability,interpersonal communication and so on.To explore the relationship between family background and academic achievement of college students,and whether their family background has an impact on the acquisition of academic achievement,is the research focus of this study.Based on the relevant studies,this study explains the family background and academic achievement.The family background is measured from the relevant demographic variables,economic capital,cultural capital,educational capital and personal growth experience.the academic achievement is measured from noumenon academic achievement,extended academic achievement and developmental academic achievement.Through the analysis of reliability and validity,a formal questionnaire is formed after modifying the original questionnaire.Random investigation in the form of online questionnaire are carried out in the universities and colleges on a national scale and a total of 1024 valid questionnaires are collected.In this study,spss22.0 is used to sort out the data,and through descriptive,differential,correlation and regression analysis we find that:there are significant differences in academic achievement scores between urban and rural college students,and the rural areas are generally weaker than the urban ones;there are differences in academic status among different economic levels,and the low level is obviously weaker than the high level;the academic level varies in family cultural,and senior intellectual family was significantly higher than that of low level intellectual family;the students from disadvantaged families are deficient in social practice and interpersonal communication;The students from disadvantaged families have some shortcomings in studying for employment and adapting to the society.Based on the conclusion,this study suggests that it is imperative for government;school,family and society to work together for promoting the academic achievement of college students,especially those with disadvantaged family background.We should increase economic investment and strengthen the development of rural education;Promoting precision aid and supporting economically disadvantaged students;Optimizing family education and carrying out "indentation"education;Focusing on the characteristics of personality and strengthening teaching according to individual aptitude;Create a fair environment and create equal opportunities for development.
