| With regard to insufficiency in existing researches in the effect of physical excercise on Female secondary school students, this study deploys experiments to analyze the effects of Yoga and Taichi on the students’ body shapes, cardiopulmonary function, physical flexibility, balance, and emotional stability. The study compares the efficacy of between Yoga and Taichi in improving the students’ physical and mental health. Experiment subjects are all enlisted students of the Kunming Financail and Commarcail School. 100 of the female students who were enrolled in Yoga and Taichi club.and 50 of those who did not participate in any sports club were selected. The participants were divided into three groups by cluster sampling, repectively Yoga, Taichi, and control. Participants in the Yoga and Taichi groups received 90 minutes of respectively Yoga and/or Taichi trainging every Tuesday and Thursday whereas the control group did not. The result demonstrates that:1. Both Yoga and Taichi are effective on improving the students’ body shapes, Yoga produces is better than Taichi.2. Both Yoga and Taichi improve cardiopulmonary function, Yoga yields more significant enhancement of Forced Vital Capacity and FVC/weight index.3. Both Yoga and Taichi helps to ameliorate the students’ physical flexibility, Yoga demonstrates larger significance.4. Both Yoga and Taichi improves the students’ balancing ability. Yoga demonstrates better efficacy in improving static balance, while Taichi prevails in movements.5. Both Yoga and Taichi are able to improve the students’ mood. Yoga does not have a significant effect on the students’ activeness or deliberate reasoning. Neither does Taichi show any significance to their deliberate reasoning. Yoga is better in pacification, Taichi is better in active state of mood. The result shows that: Comparisons within the control group has no any significant difference excepting FVC and FVC/weight index. Comparisons between experiment groups and control group prove that both Yoga and Taichi are remarkably capable of improving female students’ body shapes, cardiopulmonary function, flexibility, balance, and mood, where the efficacy of Yoga and Taichi with different parameters. We also notice that the effect of the comparison between two exercise groups is different to some degree, the yoga group of female students’ body shapes, cardiopulmonary function, body flexibility, static balance ability and calm state of mood are superior to the Tai chi group, tai chi group of female students’ ability of dynamic balance, the active state of mood are better than yoga group. This paper suggests the female students of secondary school should scientificly select exercise according to their own physical condition. |
