With the developing of society, it is of more important to study personality and to practice personality education. A tendency of transform from traditional Education for Knowledge and intelligence to modern education for personality has been appeared in many Western countries. Contrastively, there is still a serious problem of treasuring ability and ignoring character in school so that the conditions of adolescence's personality development and level of personality education can not adaptive to the changing of our society effectively. The purpose of this paper was to point out the history, concept, characteristics, values, goals, tasks and contents of personality education, and to provide some practical suggestions such as methods and principles for the practice of personality education The main contents of this dissertation were divided into these parts: Introduction, concept of personality, definition of personality education, history and actuality of personality education, types of personality and characteristics of healthy personality, and practice of personality education.
