At present, the research which deals with the Theory & Practice of the Activity Course and Initiative Education in Mathematics in middle school is still at the preliminary stage. This paper focuses on the value orientation, theoretical basis and division of definition, educational objectives, teaching principles, method design, organization of the activity course, evaluation system as well as the operation techniques. Nowadays, the research of initiative education is still in the primary period, which is the first step of the quality-orientated education. And this paper is the research of the initiative education concerning with the concept of the new era, the system of the educational objectives and the strategies implemented in education. Built on the recognition and study of the activity~ course, this paper has done some deep research between the basic and important problems in initiative education as well as their relationship. And it has finally come to the conclusion that the activity course can enhance the initiative education. Based on this conclusion, combined with geographical advantages of Ge Zhou Dam High School, attached to the great project of the Three Gorges, exploring on the education resource of this great project, especially on the experimental basis of the activity course in mathematics in middle school, this paper has illustrated that the activity course can promote the initiative education. Besides this, it has also had further discussion of the role that the activity course plays in the initiative education.
