On the turning of the new century, what makes the popular to focus on is the worldwide knowledge-based economy caused by the swift developing of high-technology. The emerging of the knowledge-based economy is the inevitable result of the development of productivity. Marching to the knowledge-based economy and information society is the basic progress direction of human society as well as the trend of the world.Science and education are the two fundamental factors of the development of knowledge-based economy. Among them, the latter is the base. The inherent features of "economization of knowledge", "knowledgation of industry", "flexibility of management", "innovation of development", "recessivation of competition" and "for-life education" of knowledge-based economy leads to the level and the quality of human economic development on the 21st century depending on the capability of the production , accumulation, acquiring and applying of the knowledge, especially the capability of innovation; also leads to the delimitation of the feature of human resources and educational eidos of the future world. It requires us to foster the person with reasonable knowledge structure, multiple capabilities, integrit thinking, individuational education, wholesome character and sustainable development. However, our traditional education is the product of planned economy, it obviously does not fit for nowadays nor for the future, for example: the contradiction between ordering and symbolization, the contradiction between knowledge symbol and merchandise symbol, the contradiction between educated person model and utilitarian modal, the contradiction between relationship of supply and demand and educational bottleneck, the contradiction between necessity of examination and society knot, the contradiction between inheritance and innovation.Facing the challenge of knowledge-based economy, two possibilities existing: one is to grasp the opportunity, realizing the leaping-style development, the other is to lose the chance and be dropped behind the time. It is specially important to China to grasp the opportunity and meet the challenges initiatively, for the reason of the so many contradictions above mentioned. Therefore, first of all, we should establish the strategic thinking of the span century educational development, we should realize both the leading development properly and the coordinated development with different levels. We should strengthen both the connotational development of quality-benefit-style and non-equilibrium development of regionality. Secondly, in order to enlarge the educational functions, we should develop its original functions as well as explore its new one. Thirdly, understanding "rejuvenate the nation by relying on science and education" in the view of the inherent unity between science and education. Fourthly, realizing the historical transformation on the method of human studying. The last, implementing comprehensively the Action Plan of Educational Rejuvenation facing to the 21st Century.Thinking is the precedor of action. To meet the challenge of knowledge-based economy and realize the aims above-mentioned and the leaping-style development, what we have to do firstly and necessary is-transform the traditional educational eidos, establish the brand-new view of education-not only establish the essential view of education with the character of productivity, but also establish the quality view of foster persons with consciousness of innovation and spirit of development; Not only establish the industrial view of that education is a kind of new arising industry rolling knowledge, basis, global and leading all in one, but also establish the marketing view of that education has to fit for the demand of the society and the market changing; Not only establish the develop view of realizing the educational modernization ahead of others, but also establish the reform view of strengthening the reform on educational schooling system, speeding up the reform on educational running system, realizing the educatio...
