Emphasis On Mathematical Applications To Develop Students' Innovative Spirit And Practical Ability

It has been proved by the development of the advanced countries and it will be given further proof that the prosperity and power of a country lies in the effective science and technology and efficient economic administration. These two belong to applying science and it is based on mathematics. It means mathematic applying research greatly promotes the development of science and technology."The decision on deepening educational reform and pushing forward qualitative education in all respects by the CCCCP and the State Council" says that "we must focus the carrying out qualitative education on training the students' creative spirit and practical ability." How can we reach this aim in mathematics teaching? In my opinion, mathematic applying is an important and proper method.Method of research on documents and method of summery of experience are used. Based on my teaching experience of recent years it states about the relationship between mathematic applying and the training of creative spirit and practical ability and how to train the above two by means of mathematic applying which is connected with the following three: content change of curriculum, reform of the patterns of teaching activities and the flexible use of applying methods and means.I hope this assay can attract the attention of my colleagues on applied mathematics. So that we can develop the students' creative spirit and practical ability and put qualitative education into practice.
