The problem with the differences of the academic achievement of middle school students has been studied by many educational specialists. At present, the differences of the academic achievement not only concern students' attitude to study, the differences of learning strategies for all the subjects, but the most important factor is the way that teachers give lessons in classes. This research is to analyze the reasons for differences of the academic achievement from the standpoint of the students.The research is focused on the everyday teaching and everyday study in the classroom by means of ethnography methods. The subjects are the students of Senior Two, who are from the same class. In the beginning, I chose 15 students from the class in order to get the general idea about teaching and learning. Then 5 students were chosen to be studying objects for further research. From these talks I have the main findings as follows:1. The mode of teaching influences the academic achievement such as the active atmosphere in classes, the participation among teachers and students.2. The variety of teaching in classes brings students more interests in learning.3. The different strategies for subjects lead to different results, such as note-making, exercises.4. Teachers' attention affects the academic achievement indirectly, including positive attention and passive attention.5. Coaching at home---- a consolation All above-mentioned are reasons for the differences of academic achievement of students. So teachers should design more teaching steps to meet the needs of different students; enable students to have more time to anticipate all kinds of activities in classes. Teachers should be more in contact with students and take their suggestions about teaching. In that case, teachers will be welcomed and accepted by more students.
