All-round quality education is one of the essential parts of the elementary education reform. Therefore, the Department of Education of China has made up the Compendium of Reform of the Elementary Courses, which aims to lay a foundation for the new basic system of the elementary education concerning the quality of education. As one important part of quality education, the maths education must adapt itself to the new educational situation and develop fully its role. For the teacher, the first step is to make full preparation, that is, to make a good teaching plan-the refined teaching experience, which reflects the teaching pattern, knowledge and its implementation by the teacher. Therefore, the design of a teaching plan is the key to the selection of materials from the textbook and improvement of the students' quality as well as teaching in class. However, the traditional teaching plan centers on the textbook and the teacher, which is quite different from that used in quality education. So, after some systematic research in the teaching plan reform, on the basis of teaching practice, I name my paper Research into the Reform of the Teaching Plan of Middle School Maths. It covers the following points:(1) Exploration of theoretical bases of the Teaching Plan reform;(2) Exploration of the influence of the reformed teaching plan on the cultivation of thestudents' maths ability, and emotional well-being attitude. With extensive reference, this paper builds the research skeleton of the reform ofmaths teaching plan. To begin with, the paper reviews the traditional teaching plan, and analyses its problems(1)taking a bias toward the teacher on the teacher-studentrelationship (2) lack of the concrete analysis of cognitive style and learningpsychology (3)more emphasis on the two basic skills, neglecting the cultivation of thestudents' emotion, attitude and value outlook.Second, the paper puts forward the teaching-learning plan, contrasting thetraditional one and explores its theoretical basis and design. The following form is thesummary:Analysisofmaths materialAnalysisofstudentsDecide the teaching aimDesign the teaching patternAssessment of the teaching planThe teaching-learning plan takes the development of students as its central theme, the advanced theory of studying and education as its instruction. It, based on the analysis of the teaching material, emphasizes the analysis of students and takes the knowledge construction of teaching material, cognition, emotion and experience of students into consideration, then, determines the teaching aims suitable for the development of students, opens teaching resources and compiles teaching contents suitable for the students' active research and learning. These cultivate the students' interest in maths, and build a positive emotion and an active learning attitude towards maths. This paper put forward two teaching-learning plans: one concerning Set and one concerning Reflex concerning its definition and characteristics. They are characterized by the following points:(1)The teaching in class focuses on the students (2)It takes the teacher-students-discussion teaching pattern (3)It provides more chances for students to research and to create actively. Therefore, the new plan plays an active role in cultivating the students' quality. In the experimental class (class 1 and 2 of grade 1) from September, 2002 to January 2003, I have done some experiments, including the analysis of the cognitive style of students, the analysis of their learning plans and the performance of the teaching plan in class. Hence the following results: the performance of the teaching-learning plan in class stimulates the subjectivity of the students, improve their maths ability, cultivates their maths quality by their active learning, cooperation and research. It also stimulates the students' interest in maths, and forms a positive emotional, attitudinal and value outlook, therefore, promoting quality...
