Prostitution Of Female Personality Research

Prostitution is one typical form of sex commerce. With the development of national economy, the phenomenon of prostitution is sharply extending and has become one serious social problem. To prevent and eliminate it, more and more researches have appeared in this field.Based on the theory of personality ?situation interaction, this quantitative study is to investigate prostitutes' personality characters and related situations and to explore the main factors that evoke prostitution. The 255 subjects are randomly selected from one penitentiary. Each is administered the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, the Group Rorschach Inkblot Test. And the situation survey is subsequently administered. Finally, case study is done.The following results were obtained:1 Prostitutes exhibit particular personality characters. Extroversion, extra-control, and low emotion stabilization level are dominant in these subjects, and their personality is affected by early family factors considerately.2 The prostitution of woman is concerned with many situations, such as economic poverty, failure in marriage or love affair, bad life habits, exposure of erotic stimulus, sexual aberrance in family members, abetment of partners, stressful events and so on..3 Prostitution can attribute to the personality and the situations' interaction. Significant positive correlations are found between extravert and inducing behavior of husband and boyfriend, and between introvert and abetment of friends, drinking, gambling, runaway, raped event, husband or boyfriend' drug using and gambling easily drive women with extrovert trait to engage in sexual business. Economic poverty, failure in marriage or love affair, desertion by husband or boyfriend, bad social relationship, exposure of erotic stimulus, abetment of friends easily drive the introvert to prostitute.
