The competition between universities is actually the competition of their talented faculty.As regards to LI university, for the purpose of further deepening the reform of internal management system, it is their urgent task to find ways to strengthening the internal management system and to build up a scientific motivation mechanism which is advantageous for cultivating and employing talents, so as to let the personnel take full initiatives and to use their creativity to the fullest extent, to improve the class-teaching quality and efficiency of the university, as well as to ensure both vigorous and sustainable development of the university.In the meantime, the author hopes the analyses of this LI case may help to sort out the general problems concerning college faculty motivation so that other universities and colleges, especially the peers of LI, may benefit during their courses of seeking survival and development.The author adopts the following method in her research, literature review, questionnaire, personal interview, following-up survey, etc. to analyze the effectiveness of the motivation mechanisms recently implemented by LI.On the basis of aforesaid analyses, the author makes out a practical motivation program by means of applying motivation theories of behavior study, referring to successful experience from universities both home and abroad.Through the programming of LI's motivation mechanism on faculty, the author has remedied the following defects in the prevailing mechanism, although, which had been improved than before. The defects are: Imperfect faculty recruiting system; Less scientific assessment of faculty performance; Inelastic reward regulation; Insufficient understanding of faculty needs and so on.Hence this program, which is convenient to carry out, comes into being to meet LI's demand for sustainable development. The program includes: to build up more motivating recruitment management model, to set up more scientific and rationalperformance assessment system, to frame more elastic rewarding system; to implement more flexible retraining model, to carry out participating motivation managed democratically, to set up academic teamworks and so on.Along with the programming, the author also probes into the backing factors to implement the program.
