The problems of people in China have been paid close attention to allthe time for the last dozens of years. With the development of economyand the society and the implementation of the system of family planningof more than 20 years, the demographic situation of China has changedgreatly. Some questions are more and more outstanding, one of which isthe problem of aging people. The problem of aging people has a greatrelation with the structuring the harmonious society of China; therefore, itcauses people more and more attention. In order to cope with theimpending aging problem, the experts and scholars offer their advice andeach airs his own views. It has become the common understanding thatone of the important approaches to deal with the aging situation isdevelop the elderly people property in a more cost-effective manner. In China, the development of the elderly people property is still at thebeginning of stage, with people still being strange to it, having not formeda very good atmosphere yet in the folk and business circles. Meanwhile,China just started to the research in theory of elderly people property inthe 1990s last century, though theoretical research start very late, someprogress has been made quickly, company with warm discussion on someissues. Some constructive and positive views and advices are seen in allnewspapers and magazines. The warm atmosphere of the Elderly peopleproperty's theoretical research is benefit to both practice and theory. Thisthesis will stress on China's elderly people property's development, andsome comments on the theories in the realm will be put forward here. The nature and connotation of the elderly people property have beenone of the focuses that the educational circles have paid close attention toall the time. People's understanding of the denotation of elderly peopleproperty has a conversion that the elderly people property belongs to fromtertiary industry, then, to the primary one, the secondary one, and thetertiary one, the fourth one as well. On the connotation of the elderlypeople property, someone maintains it is only profitable organizations ofenterprise but not charitable ones, someone maintains it includes bothprofitable enterprises and charitable organizations. As for the nature ofthe elderly people property, some argue that it is marketable only, whilesome believe that it's charitable only, still more, some say it is both. In thepaper, I think, the definition of elderly people property has the broadsense one and the narrow sense one; the broad one refers to the industrysystem of all the organizations and enterprises that run directly for the oldpeople, including marketable profitable economic entities and thosewelfare and charitable entities. The narrow sense one refers to themarketable and profitable economic entities only. So the broadly definedelderly people property is an industry system, which passes through theprimary, the second, the tertiary and the fourth industries on extension ofdefinition, which contains the marketable and profit-aimed enterprises aswell as the charitable organizations on the connotation of it, which is bothmarketable and charitable on nature. Due to the urgency of developingthe marketable elderly people property, this thesis emphases on thenarrow sense one in the following argumentation. The elderly people property is divided into ten items because of thesefactors, such as the Chin's actual conditions, the special demands of theold people, the elderly people property frame in the future. China has profound reasons to develop the elderly people property.Firstly, China's population ages with higher speed, and the old people'sscale increases fast. The special demands of material and spirit cannot besatisfied, which forms the most direct and primary reason. Secondly, theconstant promotion of the economic system reform of socialist market hasoffered wide space, driving force and opportunities for the developementof the elderly people property, etc. Also, China has a lot of bothadvantages and disadvantages to develop the elder...
