"San Wei Liu'Hua" is a reading methodology stressing on three operating stages with six principles. The three stages are choosing suitable materials, training and making comments to the reading course. The six principles are the characteristics in the three aspects. During the course of reading, choosing suitable materials of reading is to lay stress on human naturalization and the reading materials must be proper to the native readers, training should lay stress on individualization and direct ionization, and appraising ought to be particular about objectification and classificationization. We put forward "San Wei Liu Hua" Reading Methodology in backward high school based upon humanism psychology theory and the learning theory, some English reading teaching experience at home and abroad and our present practice. The aim is to resolve our present teaching problems, such as the present reading materials are difficult for the students in remote areas, the classroom reading teaching efficiency is not high, what's more, some teachers pay less attention to the reading courses and could not guide students to reach the expected goal using the reading methods. For the above, we have carried out this English teaching experiment research.This experiment is divided into three stages: this stage chiefly was preparing the experiment to the preparatory phase in the first stage (before September2002), this stage is mainly to prepare the experiment, collect the materials, learn theories, demonstrate experiment and codify the teaching materials; The second stage (from September 2002 to July 2003) formally puts into effect around experiment and organize the two exams according to the plan, one is ahead of the experiment and the other is after the experiment: The third stage (from September to March 2004)is chiefly about the experiments achievements and lessons which summed up a year and popularized to others.And we also prepare the second round experiment in September through the experiment above the following conclusion is chiefly got:1. Compare with the traditional reading methodology, "San Wei Liu Hua" Reading Methodology does much better to the high students' reading ability and arousing their interests to learn ;2. "San Wei Liu Hua" Reading Methodology is to be favor of cultivating students reading character;3. "San Wei Liu Hua" Reading Methodology is to be favor of promoting students work result.In addition, through experiment we also got the following enlightment:1. Putting reading in a proper position in Senior Middle school stage;2. While reading the problem must be delt with "what to read, how to read, when to read."3. Paying more attention to the reading guidance and training students reading skills.4. Paying much attention to the motional attitude and arousing their interests while reading.
