CALL (Computer-assisted-language-learning) has been widely accepted and applied with the development of new technology which makes it possible to improve the students' reading ability. CALL has gained more and more researchers' concern and research findings on CALL have been largely positive. Based on the experiment research on reading through Internet and the analysis of concepts of reading, this paper attempts to focus on the ways of the integration of CALL and English reading course as well as the ways of improving the students' reading speed and reading comprehension. Advantages and disadvantages are also discussed. This paper consists of 4 chapters. Firstly, the paper starts with an introduction to the definition and implications of CALL based on the research at home and abroad, then the aim of the experiment is proposed. Secondly, it deals with the process of the research from 5 aspects. Thirdly, it discusses the advantages and disadvantages of CALL as well as some principles of CALL. Fourthly it gives some suggestions on the research in this field. The experimental findings show that the students reading input can be largely increased and the reading skills can be greatly improved. The reading speed, reading comprehension and the results of English examination of the students are better than those of the control group. Z tests indicate that the gain was statistically significant at the α=05 level. The implication is that we teachers of English can do more in this area in order to improve the students' reading ability. Finally, it offers an example of integrative reading lessons through the Internet which are often used in this experiment.
