Class environment is a social-mental environment which consists in the group composed of the teacher and the student. Class environment is one of the most important environments for student's development. It has been playing a crucial and long-term role in children's growth.The concept and the theory of the sense of academic efficacy came from Bandura's the sense of self-efficacy and the sense of teaching efficacy. The sense of academic efficacy has two meanings:one is the subjective judgement for controlling his or her own learning behavior and academic achievements;the other is the subjective judgement for the function of education and teachers.This study investigates the class environment of grdae 5, grade 6 and grade 8 and the students' the sense of academic efficacy. The author discusses the relationship between class environment and the sense of academic efficacy, the factors that impact class environment and the sense of academic efficacy, and the model among class environment, the sense of academic efficacy and academic achievements."My Class Questionnaire" and "the Perceived Academic Self-efficacy Scale" are administrated to 809 elementary school and middle school students, who are from grade 5,6 and 8 in 6 schools.This study yields the following main results:First, three distinctive types of class environment are identified, that is, cohesive and competitive, average and conflict. As a whole, class environment in primary and middle school has the general characteristics of good relationship, high order and discipline, high competition and moderate learning load.Second, the factors that impact class environment include: the students' sex, grade, academic achievements, if a cadre of the class, if a excellent student of the class.Third, as a whole, the sthdents have a higher perceived basic capability, perceived control and perceived academic self-efficacy.Fourth, the factors that impact the sense of academic efficacy include: the students' sex, grade, academic achievements, social economic status, if a cadre of the class, if a excellent student of the class and if a singleton of the family.
