People have taken a new look at knowledge as a result of the economic globalization and the coming of the Information Age as well as the replacement and expansion of knowledge,leading to the replacing of terminative learning by lifelong one .Our time has maken unprecedented urgent demands on creative talents and the spirit of creativity .The implementation of quality-oriented education is to carry out the educational guidelines of the Party comprehensively ,aiming at improving the quality of the whole nation with the emphasis of cultivating the students'spirit of creativity and the ability of practice .In the new National Curriculum Standard, the scientific inquiry has been put to the core place.Letting students study science through inquiry is not only commonly proposed by all subjects, but also unanimously required as the standard of the content.Chemistry teaching should pay attintion to the training of the process of inquiring chemistry knowledge and of learning methods to students,with an aim of inspiring students'interests of discovering ,analyzing and solving problems and making students form the attitude of query and the spirit of criticizing.Which are necessary in learning .The purpose of it is to cultivate students'ability to multi-dimensional thinking,inferring as well as concluding .However,we are still on the preliminary stage of exploring with regard to the studies of inquiry,which has led to a series of problems both in theory and practice ,even confusions and worries.The article of mine develops a set of mode of carrying out the studies of inquiry of chemistry teaching in senior high school,on the basis of the theory of teaching and learning ,the theory of structure principle and the theory of pedagogy and psychology and some other theories on the study of inquiry,combining the practical situations of students,my own practice and teaching experience,by exploring the carrying out of the studies of inquiry in chemistry teaching in senior high school and the method of experimental contrasts as well as the teaching activity of carrying out the studies of inquiry in the experimental class specifically .This article of mine also provides several suggestions on how to carry out the studies of inquiry better in chemistry teaching.The teaching practice has preliminarily proved that the changes in the students'learning ways make students not only keep their advantages they have owned in the skills of learning knowledge but make some improvements to different degrees in their abilities to analyze and solve problems and the ability to practise of starting work and consider .
