One of the most outstanding characters of modern science teaching renovation is the change from putting emphasis on the content of knowledge itself to emphasizing the process of exploring knowledge with scientific methods. As the important content of the chemistry course during the compulsory education period, science exploration is irreplaceable when it comes to developing students' science accomplishments. Chemical experiment is an important way for students to learn the basic chemistry knowledge and realize science exploration. Therefore, more and more people start to see the importance of the chemical experiment teaching guided by explorative thinking. In this paper the author carries a deep research into explorative experiment teaching based on the analysis on the current situation of chemical experiment teaching in junior high schools. The origin and the development of explorative experiment teaching are elaborated and a clear line is drawn for explorative experiment teaching in the paper. The author also analyses the theology and the guiding principles of explorative experiment teaching and compares the explorative experiment teaching with the validating experiment teaching. Based on the above analysis and elaborations, the author comes up with the idea of carrying out the practical research on explorative experiment teaching in junior high school chemistry classes to prove its feasibility and effectiveness. At the same time, the author explores the design principles, contents and teaching processes and analyses the feasibility and effectiveness of carrying out explorative experiment teaching in junior high schools by taking polls, private talks and experience summing-up. The paper also summarizes the problems that exist in carrying out explorative experiment teaching, which provides valuable references for the chemical experiments renovation in junior high schools.
