As a new teaching method,the inquiring teaching,which was put forward inthe 1960s,has been attached more and more importance worldwide.With the wholereform of basic educational curricula in our country,it is also regarded asthe core of the scientific curricula to cultivate the students'inquiringabilities.In April,2003,curricular standards for the normal senior middleschool,which was instituted by the Ministry of edcation,focuses that seniorstudents should be able to experience the mathematical discoveries andcreation so as to develop their innovative consciousness throughself-determined activities.In this treatise,I tried to deeply analyze the connotation,meanings andthe relative theories of the inquiring method,with the analysis ofliterature,summary of the experiences.In addition,I proposed some ideas forthe teaching practice from the aspects of the orientation of teachers andstudents,carrying out strategy,and how to bring it into effect in detail.The whole treatise is divided into four parts.1.The background and meanings of discussing the questionWith the development of knowledge economy and the challenge of theinformation times,our basic education has been required to advance,so"inquiry"is vital in the new curricular standards.Beginning with thesetbacks of the traditional education nowadays,the writer expounded themeaning of research topics,analyzing some present achievements in variouscountries.2.The connotation and features in mathematical explorative teaching .Inthis part,the write first explained the origin and development of mathsexplorative teaching,and then defined it with the reference of scienceexploration and explorative teaching,the writer also analyzed its severalfestures respectively.3.The theoretical basis of mathemaatical explorative teachingUsing the scientific research method for refersence,and combining thefeatures of teaching characteristic with it,we broughe the explorativeteaching into use.In this part,the writer discussed the maths teaching theorybasis from the aspects of psychology and maths eddcational theories,mainlyincluding constructivism,the theory of cognition developing,Fledental's"recreation" theory and Polya's maths educational theories.4.The practical exploration and case analysis in seniormaths'explorative teaching.In this part,I first discussed the different roles of teachers andstudents in inquiring teaching,then the writer put forward some ideas ongeneral patterns in teaching.The writer mainly discussde some difficultiesthat maths teachers might meet with in practical commitment,and analyzed theteaching strategy.With some teaching cases of new classes,exerciseclasses,practical exercises,maths experiments,the writer expounded in detailhow it can be carried out.
