By adopting questionnaires, the study is to explore thecharacteristics of risk behaviors of Chinese vestibule students, therelationship between risk behaviors and ego identity crisis. On the basis ofthe results, the causes were analyzed and some educational suggestionswere proposed. Some preventions and interventions can be done accordingto the information of this study. The revised adolescents' risk behaviors questionnaire and ego identitycrisis inventory were administrated to 420 secondary mechanics, seniormechanics, and technicians from five vestibule schools of Jinan, Shandongprovince. The main findings are as follows:1. The prevalence of risk behaviors among mechanic studentsIn general, all types of risk behaviors, including unintentional injuriesbehavior, violence behavior, smoking behavior, drinking alcohol and otherdrug use, insecure sexual behavior, improper weight control, unhealthdietary, less physical activities, have high ratios. The results indicatedserious risk behaviors exist in mechanic schools.2. Gender differences existed among vestibule school students' riskbehaviors, while few technology type differences existed.Boys reported more unintentional injuries behaviors, violencebehaviors, smoking behaviors, drinking alcohol and other drug use, andinsecure sexual behaviors than girls, while girls reported more improperweight control and less physical activities. The only technology typedifferences existed in less physical activities.3. Different type of risk behaviors positively correlated with eachother.Among unintentional injuries behaviors, violence behaviors, smokingbehaviors, drinking alcohol and other drug use, leaving home and suicideideation, there were significant correlations with each other, whichindicated the collection of risk behaviors, i.e. one types of risk behavior iseasy to cause the occurrence of another.4.The raleation of Vestibule school student's ego identity crisis andrisk behaviors.Vestibule school student's ego identity crisis correlated with riskbehaviors(expect improper weight control) significantly.
