The self-identity crisis,as the main crisis faced by junior high school students in their personality development,is often influenced by peer groups and in turn affects their interaction with peers. The existing researches mainly focus on the ego-identity status of junior high school students, while pay little attention to the specific manifestations and causes of their self-identity crisis and its influence on peer interaction.Based on this, this study takes students from a class in the seventh grade of a secondary school in S City as the research objects, collects data by observation and interview, and then analyzes three typical kinds of self-identity crises faced by junior high school students in three cases and identifies its causes, and the negative impact on peer interaction, and proposes some specific educational suggestions for different self-identity crises and communication performance. The study found that the self-identity crisis in Case 1 was manifested in the difficulty of integrating self-improvement and passive self-reduction.The reason for this kind of crisis lies in the ambivalence of individual inferiority and transcendence and the evaluation mechanism of talents in schools. The self-identity crisis in Case 2 is manifested in the coordination crisis between the real self and the virtual ideal self. The main reasons are the ridicule of the companions, the prejudice of the teachers and the absence of the parents. The self-identity crisis of Case 3 lies in the extreme opposition between self-repression and self-promotion.This stems from the huge contrast between the parental parenting style and the gentle management of teachers. The commonality of junior high school students facing different self-identity crises in peer interaction is that students do not regard their peers as equal subjects of communication. This is mainly reflected in the lack of respect and fraternity for peers, treating peers as a tool to gain a sense of superiority and pleasure and relying too much on peers as substitutes for parents.Actually, students often adopt negative coping styles such as retreat, fantasy, attack, obedience and self-harm to deal with the problems in communication.Based on the above analysis, this study accordingly proposes different educational suggestions for the self-identity crisis and communication performance in the above three cases. The education guidance for Case 1 is a three-step strategy, which includes accepting the shortcomings, facing difficulties and achieving self-transcendence.The proposal for Case 2 also comprises three aspects: accepting the true self, strengthening life education and developing the ability of love.In Case 3,the suggestions include increasing cooperation, enhancing understanding and promoting moral self-discipline.At the same time, this study also hopes that schools can create a moral atmosphere of respect and fraternity to improve the performance of students' bad interactions. This will also help to resolve the self-identity crisis of students and lay a good foundation for the long-term development of students.
