Sichuan Province In College Students Of The Level Of Moral Development Research

About the morality in university, great achievements have been made in the researches of moral education and the methods of it. However, of the researches on college students'moral development pattern and on the present situation of college students'morality by means of quantitative technology, the literatures are very scarce. Moreover, HOW TO EVALUATE THE STANDARD OF STUDENTS'MORAL BEHAVIOR is also a crucial issue in theories and practices of moral education in university. Therefore, based on Marxist moral development theory and employing DIT and MJT as research tools which evolve from L. Kohlberg's Analysis of Moral Development, this study was carried out by taking survey in four universities in Chengdu. It generated 590 valid questionnaires. After statistical analysis, the study induces the following conclusion:i) Now, the overall level of college students'moral development present is quite optimistic: 12.7% Pre-Conventi; 61.1 % Conventional, and 26.2% Post-Conventional.ii) Consistence between college students'moral cognition and judgment. In other words, with higher level of moral cognition, one is more resolved to conduct morally.iii) College students'moral development is fairly related to surroundings.iv) No remarkable connection between college students'moral development and gender.According to the above-mentioned conclusion, the study, for the current university moral education, advises to: firstly, change the conception of moral education and moral evaluation-- take students as the subject, and concern and promotion of individual's moral development the goal; secondly, improve the staffs'morality and awareness of moral education; thirdly, through improving individual moral cognition, improve individual's moral development and then improve individual moral behavior; what's more, in order to educate versatile man with high morality for our country and society, make full use of the effect, which school and family have on individual's morality, and improve individual's morality to a higher level.
