This article expatiated on that subject teaching was established in bringing up students' sustainable development abilities and explored the theoretical basis and practical ways of chemistry instructional design under the aim of sustainable development, so as to put the educating function of education into effect under the new situation and as well as do some experiment and exploration for the reform of chemistry instructional design.By using the methods of literature, investigation, action research and etc, the article carried out elementary exploration on chemistry instructional design, which was based on bringing up students' sustainable development abilities. Its object matter including the following ways:Firstly, by theoretical analysis combining with practical survey, the article discussed the meaning of students' sustainable development abilities in study activities. On this bases, students' sustainable development abilities in chemistry study was focused on students' autonomous study abilities, including self-study directional abilities, acceptant study abilities, inquiry study abilities, self-evaluation abilities and controlling abilities.Secondly, by analyzing subject foundation and theoretical basis of chemistry instructional design that bring up students' sustainable development abilities, the article expounded the basic composing, designed principle and content structure of chemistry instructional design which aimed at bringing up students' sustainable development abilities.Thirdly, by using the theory of action research as guidance and based on a series of design, practice and reconsideration, relevant instructional design factors were summarized, namely designed factors of sustainable development dynamic system: attaching importance to create and design context and inspiring study motivation; designed factors of sustainable development sustaining system: setting up an active space for students' autonomous learning and active exploration; designed factors of sustainable development regulative system: emphasizing meta-cognition ability and improving the abilities of self-evaluation and self-control. At the same time, concrete designed methods and strategies were put forward.Lastly, from the direction of designer, requirements of chemistry instructional design for teachers and several problems which were need to be emphasized in design were discussed on the basis of bringing up students' sustainable development abilities.
