The compendium of fundamental education reform definitely prescribes the idiographic aim of fundamental education curriculum reform, which is altering the tendency of paying much attention to knowledge teaching, emphasizing on maintaining the active attitude, making the process of attaining basic knowledge and skill be that of forming the right value. However, we still in the stage of probing into how to be a studying person, possessing the best learning notion, and what is more, much deficiency and conflict come up. As a result, it is much important to cultivate and evaluate students' study ability.Through the survey of four schools, begin with the characteristic of evaluation subject and object, this paper analyzes the students' study ability from elementary school to high school with scientific means, practices the standard establishment, sets up assessment criteria of students' study ability in subject teaching periods, carries out the assessment criteria on the spot, points out the inertia relationship between mark and study ability, makes conclusions as follows: 1) students' study ability is closely related to the marks during the four periods(in elementary, junior and senior school). 2)the relationship is strong in the four periods. All these give suggestions for teachers' practice. At last, the paper concludes enlightenment by the practice of assessment.
