Nowadays in our preschool education, it is easily found that some practices go against the modern and contemporary outlooks on children. The educators neglect the needs and thoughts of children, and consider them ignorant. Among the reasons for these improper behaviors, the most important is the lack of modern and contemporary outlooks on children as well as the great influences on people's subconsciousness by outlooks on children moulded by Chinese traditional cultureFormation of outlooks on children is not detached from its cultural soil. Influenced by Chinese traditional interpersonal ethical culture, children are obliged to glorify the family and nation. Positioned at the bottom of ethical relationship, children are oppressed by adults and become accessories and private properties of adults. Under this situation, children are deprived of independent personality and own thoughts, as well as creativeness. Considering the profound influences of Chinese traditional culture on masses' consciousness, it is a very complicated and great task to convert and modernize our outlooks on children. Therefore, to popularize the scientific outlooks on children in China, one important way is to follow the direction pointed by the forerunners in May Fourth Movement, and to criticize and transform traditional culture. By proceeding from cultural enlightenment to enlightenment of outlooks on children, vast masses canbe equipped with outlooks on children consistent with modern civilization.
