In this article, reviewed are the formation and development of the Achievements Goal Theory, the research actuality of academic help-seeking, and the correlation between achievement goal orientation and academic help-seeking. Based on the 2Ă—2 dimension Achievement Goal Framework proposed by Elliot and four kinds of academic help-seeking advanced Li Xiaodong, as well as the positive research around the science and engineering undergraduates, discussed are the correlation among various kinds of achievement goal orientation and the correlation between achievement goal orientation and academic help-seeking behavior, and posted are the constitution characteristic of the undergraduates' achievement goal orientation and the influence of their achievement goal orientation to their academic help-seeking behavior tendency. Furthermore, discussed is the influence of educational system to achievement goal orientation.During the demonstration research, measurement and interview are the means applied. The research tools of measurement means are the "questionnaire of achievement goal orientation of undergraduates" and the "questionnaire of academic help-seeking behavior tendency of undergraduates" formulated on the base of former researches. Its research subjects included 500 undergraduates of Southeast University, Hohai University and Nanking Industrial University. Its research has four aspects, namely: the community characteristic of achievement goal orientation, the community characteristic of academic help-seeking behavior, the relation among various kinds of achievement goal orientation and the influence of achievement goal orientation to academic help-seeking behavior tendency.The interview means is a qualitative research around partial undergraduates that are measured. By interview, discussed are the characteristic of individual achievement goal and individual academic help-seeking behaviors as well as the relation between them.The conclusions are as follows: (1) Achievement goal orientations are different among colleges and among grades, and so are the academic help-seeking behavior tendency among colleges, among grades and between the sexes; (2) Except for the correlation between mastery approach goal and performance avoidance goal, various dimensions of achievement goal orientation are correlated each other; (3) achievement goal orientation is correlated to academic help-seeking behavior tendency, and various kinds of former decides one kind of later. The result of the qualitative research verified the third conclusion, and it concluded that the achievement goal orientation of undergraduates is altered with the situation and the time.The study is helpful for undergraduates to know their study motive more deeply than ever, and to establish the study goal suitable to their development. It also has certain theoretical reference significance for the universities educational system reform in China.
