If a person does not have distant anxiety, he will be worried about now. If a person forecast the thing in the future, he will succeed;otherwise he will fail. Opportunities always show appreciation for those who are prepared. These mottoes reflect the significance of future orientation. Future orientation will have some effects on people’s cognition, emotions and behaviors. Junior middle school students are in the beginning of adolescence, they have certain physical and psychological changes, especially psychological changes. Learning is the important task that junior middle school students are faced with, also parents and teachers attach great importance to academic achievement, so junior middle school students concentrate on their academic achievement.The aim of this paper is to investigate the process of future orientation of junior high school student affecting academic achievement. Future orientation is the individual’s perception of future time preferences and action tendencies, as well as the individual’s emotional experience on the basis of them. Studies find the future orientation had positive prediction for academic achievement.Through reviewing domestic and foreign literature,based on the cognition-emotion-behavior theory, this paper will explore two paths of affecting academic achievement,including learning attitude and academic help-seeking behavior. This paper also will dig deeper into the relationship among four variables.Through interviewing junior middle school students, giving out questionnaires to them, 484 junior middle school students will be surveyed by empirical research methods. And the research verifies the affecting process of future orientation on academic achievement, and concludes four conclusions:1.There are significant correlations among four variables. The future behavior of future orientation showed a significant positive correlation with learning confidence of learning attitude. The motivation of learning attitude had a close relationship with the behavior of seeking help from teachers.2. Future emotion of future orientation has a significant negative prediction of academic achievement.3. Learning attitude is a mediation between future orientation and academic achievement.4. Academic help-seeking behavior is a mediation between future orientation and academic achievement.Based on the empirical research results, this paper formulates education measures to improve academic performance. Cultivating optimism quality is the crucial element;improving planning and execution ability are the core; setting up the right learn attitude and using the appropriate academic help-seeking behavior have a real and actual effect.
