| Since the 1920s, the construction of teaching materials in China has made great breakthrough and a new era with diverse teaching materials has come. More choices are available for schools to choose in textbooks, thus it becomes more important to make an objective and scientific analysis and evaluation of different kinds of teaching materials. Most of the prevenient research on teaching materials is qualitative rather than quantitative. This thesis using some theories of set pair analysis (SPA) to woke out quantitative conclusions, basing on experiments which lie on the teaching materials of physics in junior middle school. It primarily contains two important aspects.Study one: Use the trends of set pair to compare different teaching materials of physics in junior. This thesis regards teaching materials as a system which is both certain and uncertain. According to different knowledge, the study divides teaching material of physics into six parts comprised of acoustics, calorifics, optics, mechanics, electromagnetics and energy. According to different types of experiments, the study separates the experiments into three different parts which are demonstrated by teachers, explored by students and done after class by students. The study works out the trends of set pair on each parts of teaching materials, then to analyze and discuss on the outcome. The compare includes three parts: the first study is comparing teaching materials from the same publishing company which bases on different syllabus. The second one is comparing teaching materials from different publishing companies which base on the same syllabus. The last one is comparing new teaching materials to old ones. We can get following conclusions:(1) Working out the trends of set pair about experimental system in teaching materials basing on the same publishing company (e.g. People's Educational House) and the different syllabuses (1992 and 2000), we found that the trends are absolutely same.
