As an educational and cultural exchange program,the American au pair program has attracted more and more young Chinese to participate in it.From July 2016 to July 2017,I had the privilege of participating in this program through Cultural Care Au Pair,and gained the au pair experience in America.Foreign cultures,especially education,impressed me and other Chinese participants.Children's education and nursing work,school curriculum,let us experienced the different educational theories and methods,but also put forward a lot of challenges to our learning and work.At the same time,there are many avoidable regrets for our young students who have just joined in the au pair program.In order to enrich the future au pairs' educational experience in the period of au pair program,I try to interview other Chinese au pairs who participated in this program through Cultural Care Au Pair,study and analyze our common educational experience,perception and challenges,and leave suggestions for the future Chinese participants in this program.In this thesis,the main research method is the interview method.By interviewing these Chinese au pairs who participated in the American au pair program through Cultural Care Au Pair,the analysis shows that there are three main aspects in the educational experience of Chinese au pairs in American au pair program: the adaption of educational contents,the diversification of educational methods and the democratization of teacher-student relationship.Through the educational experience in the United States,Chinese au pairs have gained their own educational experience,which is summarized in three aspects: children are independent individuals,promote comprehensive development and personality development,cultivate innovation ability and practical ability.In the program proceed period,Chinese au pairs also face challenges as children educators in host families and as local university students.Reflecting on these challenges,it is found that the Chinese au pairs are facing the problems of insufficient education preparation,deviation of education goal and differentiation of education experience.Finally,based on the education experience,the education harvest,the education challenges and the problems in the reflection of the Chinese au pairs,this thesis puts forward some countermeasures for the Chinese young people who will participate in the American au pair program in the future.In order to improve the educational experience,to obtain more educational gains,to avoid the unnecessary setbacks and difficulties encountered by the ex-au pairs,it is suggested that the future Chinese au pairs should make provision for education in advance,including laying a good language foundation,master the necessary educational skills,collect course information in advance;After arriving in the United States,take full advantage of the local educational resources,including get the utmost of school education resources,make good use of the educational resources of host families,make full use of the educational resources of American society;playing their advantages in the program proceed period,promote cultural exchange and spread Chinese culture,including cultural exchange in host families,cultural exchange in au pair groups and cultural exchange in community and local activities.
