| This research is designed to isolate and solve the problems in project-based learning in high school geography teaching, thus developing the teaching theory of project-based learning to meet the need of the new curriculum and guide the practice of high school geography. This theory is demonstrated from the following four aspects:I The psychological foundation and general rules of the teaching theory of project-based learning This part demonstrates the theory of"Organizer"by David P. Ausubel, the theory of psychological ideas and the relationship between the theory of Experience-Course by Deway and project-based learning. It also points out project-based learning should obey the rules of inspiring motivation, teaching-enlightenment, difficulty in moderation, goals and values, and ability development, etc.II The theory and practice of teaching project-based learning with cases in high school geography teaching. This part demonstrates the relationship between project-based learning and teaching with case, that is to say, creating suitable situations with problems is the key to achieving the goals of teaching with cases.III The analysis of problems in certain situations using the new teaching-materials of geography (take the new teaching materials published by China Map Publisher for example.) The problem based learning expounded in the teaching materials consist of six types: data-analyzing, exploration through experiment, cognitive thinking , stimulating thinking, theory combined with practice and summary after discussion.IV The project-based learning of geography exercises. Such situation is made up of transferred situation, real situation and question-based situation. Each exercise should have a comparatively complete center and materials-choosing should be based on teaching goals to determine the forms and amount of exercise. In 2004, the new curriculum was first carried out in four provinces of Shandong, Guangdong, Ningxia and Hainan. The achievement of learning goals of independence, cooperation and exploration relies on project-based learning in learning. In geography-teaching, teachers employ the teaching-method of project-based learning in almost all the teaching processes, which helps to realize the principles of the present curriculum. Take a statement like,"Geography in life, geography of use."How can teachers learn through the principles with students and get a better result? Project-based learning is the best teaching method. The theory of project-based learning about cognition and learning has become an important learning theory which can offer meaningful learning and promote the change of knowledge into real living situation. |
