The experimental design is the same request of the Ordinary High school Biology Curriculum Standard and the college entrance examination science subject synthesis test. But the level of high-school pupil for biological experiment design is lower than the request. How to develop the skill of biological experimental design in the high school biology teaching is the question urgently to be solved. So raising the skill of biological experimental design in the high school biology teaching is the subject of our research.The main content of the paper includes: Defining the experimental design and the skill in biological experimental design; coming into the strategy to develop the skill in biological experimental design — gradient instruction strategy and the strengthened strategy; examining the validity of two strategies through the teaching experiment. The experiment result express the two strategies have a remarkable effect on raising the skill in biological experimental design. There is the distinct difference among the two experimental classes and the comparison class; the gradient instruction strategy is better than the strengthened strategy in the experimental design and four projects. The main difference of two strategies lies in grade 3 and the grade 4 and there is no difference in the grade land the grade 2; there is the obvious positive correlation between sex and the experimental design, and there isn't obvious correlation between sex and the elementary knowledge; the Spearman rank correlation coefficient r_s=0.443, 0.4
