The experimental ability is a significant part of middle school students'physical learning ability; meanwhile the electrical experiment is the core of physical experiment of middle school and occurs frequently in college entrance exam. This paper is proposed under the new curriculum reform background and aims at current situation of middle school students'experimental ability and its influence factors. First of all, according to education theory and experimental pedagogy theory, we classify the physical experimental ability into the following three categories: experimental knowledge, experimental skill and experimental attainment; then we make a category of the electrical experiment in the new teaching material of People's Education Press and analyze the corresponding ability prerequisite for these experiments in depth. Secondly, in order to have a thorough understanding of the electrical experimental ability of middle school students, we make a two-way checklist involving the test paper and operational testing based on the analysis of the electrical experimental ability; and then examine the freshmen of our school using the test paper and operational testing. Finally, we summarize the influence factors of ability of middle school students based on the reply to the deterministic problems in our test. The research in our paper is valuable for the teachers to reform the experiment education and improve the students'experimental ability.
