In China, nine-year compulsory education implementation has brought the actual benefit for the children in the west national minority areas. They as equally obtain the opportunity for the elementary education as the children in the city. It is a huge progress in the field of education development in our country. However, modernization's intense demand for education easily causes us to take unusual measures when we deal with the relation between the education development and the social modernization so that the education development sinks into the erroneous zone. For example, merely regards the education development as the quantity growth, relatively neglects its benefit. It is one kind of education waste.While popularizes nine-year compulsory education, we should fully pay attention to the growth of the education quality, so it can truly manifest the "humanist" soul of education. We can also enhance the education power to society promotion.So far, there are many elder pupils in the west national minority areas. Different from other children, they have more pressure and choices in the study, life and outlet. It is a society ideal that completely realizing the equality of educational opportunity .It is more realistic to take the goal" fully displays the potentiality of the individuals so that they can serve well to the society". How the children can relieved study andsmoothly enter a higher school relates to the enhancement of the education development, the development of the western area economy and the stable of our society.In our country, people pay more attention to the education opportunity in different regions, social classes and genders. In opposite, people relatively neglect the education opportunity in different ages (here specially means in the interior. of the same grade).This article attempts from the sociology of education angle embarks to discuss this question. Then it can take a certain function in theory and practice.This article firstly summarizes the correlated research about equality of educational opportunity, and then selects Xijing elementary school in Guizhou province for a document. Through questionnaire survey, literature investigation and observation investigation, the article analyzes the educational conditions of the elder pupils, discussing how the elder pupils appear.
