From 1990's,the massification of higher education has been one important trend of China'shigher education. Following the development of China's higher education, the continuous and healthy development of China's higher education is more concerned The academic society is spurred to take more deep researches and debates on this topic. The equity of higher educational is one most important themes of related researches. The equity of higher education is refers to the equity of educational opportunity in higher education. According to the fact in China, the level of higher educational equality refers to state of the student's receiving higher education, based on different genders, different localities, or different family background. Form the viewpoint of theory and empirical, the present dissertation is attempting to explore the higher educational equity in China by exploring the family background's influence on students' of enrollment.Either exploring the related theories, this study also use social survey research, the technique is multistage cluster sampling and stratification. From six colleges in HeBei province (including key ones, general ones, local ones), 2,000 college students enrolled in 2003 and 600 students enrolled in 2000 are selected to be surveyed. This dissertation explores the factors of family background (such as family economic level, locality, educational level of parent and occupation, family's amity level), these factors affect on the enrollment to different kinds and levels universities/colleges, researcher are trying to concern Chinese higher educational equity, by analyzing the facts in higher education with related theories, then, provide favorite ideas to China's higher education's development.The main conclusions are:1. Compared the enrollment of students in 2000 and 2003, there is a trend toward education equity whether on the gender or family background.2. Students coming from urban family, higher economic level family, democratic family, and those parents have higher education level, social status; have higher enrollment accessing to the best universities/colleges.3. Local universities/colleges as the towest level institutions have students with most outstanding family background; the high percent of those are from urban family. Their family's economic level and parent's social status are highest in the 3 higher education levels. Those local university/colleges' flexible policy of enrollment made these students get more chance of higher education, than other students with same school achievement, but no same family background.4. The status of teachers training colleges is enhancing, education is not the "unexpected specialty" as past.
