In this study, the ability of directing scientific exploring, the directing ability for short, is defined to be the necessary ability when directing students of middle schools or primary schools to do scientific investigation ,which includes directional exploring in class, investigation based on individual interest, making scientific and technological objects after class and topic study done by several group members. Teachers working in middle schools and primary schools have to be equipped with me directing ability by reason of the curriculum innovation in elementary education. As most college students of normal unrvetsities will be science teachers of middle schools or primary schools, as a result ,it is imperative under the situation to cultivate their ability to direct students doing scientific exploring, the precondition of which is to confirm clearly the important factors that consist of the directing ability.This paper consists of six chapters. The study background, meanings and the status quo of related research of this study as well as the main content and research methods of this study are introduced in the first chapter. The theory foundation of this study is arranged in the second chapter, which mainly includes the study theory and teaching theory through scientific exploring, the theory of science education and teacher's ability of teaching. The third chapter is named to be the expert-investigation results and analysis. the questionnaire is work outed by the investigator, by use of which the investigator collected the ideas of the experts of scientific exploring study field on the impoitant made-up factors of the directing ability and on the connotation of those factors. as a result,the important made-up factors and the connotation of the factors are confirmed. In addition,the investigator also worked out another questionnaire to survey the status quo of the directing ability of the college students studying in normal universities .The surveyed students is up to 370, who are from four different universities of four different regions. The integral status of the directing ability of the students studying in normal universities is analyzed based on the survey .Meanwhile, their level in those made-up factors of the ability, the diversity of the ability involved in different universities, grades ,sex and majors also studied. Moreover, the investigator also made use of the exploring factor analytical method to study the important made-up factors of the directing ability. The results of the work mentioned above are arranged in the fourth chapter. According to the above study result, the investigator fulfilled practical study in order to bring up some effective methods to upgrade the level of the directing ability of the students studying in normal universities, and validate the conclusion originated from the expert- investigation. The related study outcome is explained in the fifth chapter. In the sixth chapter, the investigator summarized the whole study work and pointed out the deficiencies of this research, prospecting the foreground of it.
