Along with the deepening of quality education, education emphasizes more on training students' ability to meet an emergency and the ability to innovate. And it pays more attention to ability-based learning, intelligence-based and open-style. Variation learning just bases on the requirements to improve our ability to meet an emergency, to optimize thinking, and to cultivate the spirit of innovation. It follows the teaching principles to enlighten thinking, to exposure process, and to explore innovative to dig the variation innovative elements in the learning resources.The application of variation in teaching has a long history. Based on the multimedia technology and network technology, the progress of information technology is now at a very fast speed. And, information technology, with its manifold prepotency and characteristics, it is effectively supporting the development of variation learning. On this paper, it will mainly discuss how the information technology supports the variation learning and how, based on the information contexts, to create learning situations of diversification and according with the students' cognitive disciplinarian for variation learning.This paper firstly thoroughly discusses the meaning of variation learning in theory. It cognizes the variation learning again from the perspective of traditional educational psychology and phenomenography, and on the base of analyzing Gu Lingyuan's conceptual variation and process variation, integrating the theory of constructivism, it expands the meaning of variation learning—situated variation. Then based on the analysis of how information technology supports the learning situation, it discusses the variation learning in the information contexts from the following perspective: "the building of variation space", " the laying of the latency distance", and " the creation of multiplicity context". Finally, it detailedly analyzes how to design the variation learning situation, and brings forward the principles of the design. From the perspective of the generalization situation, the fusion situation and the ubiquity situation ,it analyzes how to design the variation learning situation with exemplifications. It will provide theoretic support for the design of the variation learning situation in the information contexts and provide the examples for reference samples.
