The World, For The Daughter

A little-known but vibrant underground queer women's community exists with people's disregards and misunderstandings for a long time in China. In this dissertation the author is focusing on researches and investigations on Beijing's "Lala" scene with anthropologic methodology to eliminate such prejudice and put up a new round thought into Chinese homosexuality.The author's investigation consists of two parts. First of all, the author will participate into Beijing's Lala community by joining their activities, realizing their life-style and institutions through intercommunication; second of all, semi-structured questionnaires will be prepared for interviews of Lala's grow-up experiences and emotional desire to deep reach their real heart. It is expected to obtain around twenty cases for being further analyzed.This dissertation is composed of night parts. Part 1 provides the background of lesbian's research; Part 2 addresses the dissertation methodology; Part 3 is the Beijing's Lala's community profile including their population and occupations; In part 4, Lala community's subculture communication approaches including internet, bars and hot line etc will be introduced as well as Beijing's Lala development history; In part 5, the author focuses on how Lala identify themselves as lesbian, what role lalas play between two parties and the process they realize their sex tropism; Part 6 discusses how Lala face general marriage policy and pressure from their parents; Part 7 explores the reasons people become homosexuality through their grow up experiences; Part 8 describes Lala's real life including sex and love, in which a case study about Lala's real experiences will be given; Part 9 is the conclusion of this dissertation.
