Consolidated University Management Optimization Problem

In order to reconstruct the structure of colleges and universities in china, from 1992 to 2001, covering over 900 colleges and universities, China's colleges and universities merged on a large scale, Especially after 2000, a number of large multi-campus universities have mushroomed, which really gives a big shock to the field of higher education. During these years, many pursuers in the fields of higher education and university management have published so many research papers on university combination, amalgamation and management, which offer development and amalgamation of university combination valuable theoretical instruction and provides good opinions to the further development of university management system. But, on the whole, these researches of thoroughgoing problems on China's university combination lack intrinsic depth, breadth and system.The paper does more complete, systematic, theoretic and factual research on the management optimization. I collect relative works and material widely, absorb and draw lessons from related achievements and ideas in this field, analyze the new problems and contradictions brought about by the mergence. With regard to these problems, the paper proposes the view point of over all optimizing colleges and universities management and explores optimization in management ideas and management measures.The paper divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 is Introduction, illustrating the reasons, research way and methods about the topic, summarizing theoretical research achievements and different arguments available, identifying definitions related to the topics and make necessary preparations for the later arguments.In Chapter 2, I takes US as a typical example, introduces the managerial experience of overseas multi-campus universities. First, I introduce the forming and development of the US multi-campus universities, and then analyze the organizing structure and several types of them. Through the analysis of the US multi-campus universities, we could acquire some useful experience to the multi-campus combined universities in China.In Chapter 3, I analyze theoretical sources of optimizing the management of multi-campus combined universities, including the theoretic of business management, education management and multi-campus combined universities management optimization.In Chapter 4,1 analyze management idea optimization of multi-campus combined universities, namely strategic management. First I analyze the strategic management theoretic in universities. And then I analyze the process of strategic management, including strategic programming, strategic implementation and strategic evaluation. At last, I propose that the main content of strategic management be the orientation of multi-campus combined universities and the object of strategic management be creative universities with core competence.In Chapter 5, I analyze management measures optimization of multi-campus combined universities, including limited rational tactics and information management, enhancing the initiative and vitality of campus and institution organizational patterns, reorienting and integrating disciplines, and culture amalgamation in multi-campus combined universities and so on.Chapter 4 to 5 is the key part of the whole paper.
