On The Impact Of Taoism On Chinese Traditional Sports

Chinese traditional sports which taken Wushu and Yangsheng-sports as representative have derived many important viewpoints from Taoism thought in its developing process. At this point, It is still very significant to develop Chinese traditional sports with the aid of the Taoism thought wisdom.At present, the research about the Chinese traditional sports mainly concentrate on the origin, development and so on. We are lack of the conducts from the China traditional culture in particular Taoism thought angle. Therefore, this article, trying from the Taoism thought unique angle and using many methods such as material historical analysis, system analysis, and so on, study the influence of the Taoism thought to the Chinese traditional sports practice and the theory. Mean while, based on the contemporary China tradition sports development faced with many difficult positions, we proposed many development countermeasure about the Chinese tradition sports under the vision of Taoism thought field.The conclusions of our study are as follows:(1)The profound Chinese Wushu were deeply influenced by Taoist in the process of its formation and development. The theories of traditional Wushu were evolved under the influence of the ontology and dialectics of Taoism. At the same times, Taijiquan, Xingyiquan and Baguazhang are all based on the Taoist philosophy.(2) Yangsheng-Sports was deeply influenced by Taoist. It took the Taoist philosophy as its theory guide. Under the influence of Taoist, Yangsheng-Sports formed the good principles of harmony with nature, sport with static, shape with images. Daoyin, Xingqi and Cunsi are all the example of Taoism's impact on sports.(3) The concepts of Chinese traditional sports culture were deeply affected by Taoism thought. Gas monism life view, the life double repair altogether practices view, the whole concept of unification god with people, heavy person expensive fresh keeping in good health view, masculine and feminine elements unification of opposites dialectical view, the outlook of pursuit harmony and the sport values of advocating aesthetic, all these were inseparable with the influence of Taoist.(4) Chinese traditional sports have been declining and are in an very difficult position under the double attack of both the impact of Western culture and shrinking of traditional sports culture. The impoverished theory, the fragile heritage, the awkward evolution and malaise absorb jointly constituted the difficult situation of the contemporary Chinese traditional sports.(5) "the knowledge was allows, to allow your father", "to return plain returns to original condition", "moderate and harmony", "respect human and love life", all these thoughts of Taoist provided a good reference and enlightenment for the development of traditional sports in contemporary China.
