Classical Chinese is the carrier of Chinese traditional culture. The learning of Classical Chinese is an important part in High school Chinese teaching. In this article, I make a survey of the situation where High School students apply the learning strategies on Classical Chinese at present from the cognition strategy, the metacognition strategy and the resource utilization strategy. Then I find there are some mistakes when students apply the learning strategies on Classical Chinese, especially on the cognition strategy. First, pay attention to the accumulation of knowledge but lack effective summary. Second, pay attention to translating word by word in reading, but don't understand the contents deeply. The reading speed is too slow and inefficient. Third, pay attention to the learning of Classical Chinese in classes but lack extension and the reading after school badly. According to the situation above, this article puts forward three learning strategies on Classical Chinese: Classical Chinese knowledge buildup strategy, blurred translation strategy and intertextuality reading strategy. By probing into the intension of the three strategies, the methods that can be used and the detailed links of the teachers instructing students to apply, this article analyses how teachers help students increase the level of applying these three learning strategies on Classical Chinese through class teaching practice.
