Although the prose accounts for a high proportion in the middle school Chinese teaching material, but the prose teaching frequently confuses with the literary style of novel, poetry teaching and so on; or it is divided into knowledge points to analyze, unable to manifest it's own teaching characteristic.To highlight the characteristic of the prose teaching, first we should return to it's own characteristic - shape dispersing but spirit concentrating. This article proposes my own view aiming at this point, discusses the prose teaching model, lets the student understand the prose knowledge realistically, learn to read, appreciates the prose, and use it to write their own composition.This article elaborates in three aspects: the present situation of prose teaching, the characteristic of shape dispersing but spirit concentrating, and the prose teaching model. The first part is the definition, characteristic of prose, and the significance of the prose teaching, which is the base of this article. The second part elaborates the characteristic of prose—shape dispersing but spirit concentrating , and the advantages of Chinese teaching in the aspects of selecting the material widely, the multiple form, and dispersing but not chaotic character and so on .which is the basis of prose teaching. The third part discusses the prose teaching model from the aspects of the prose reading teaching (narrating prose, lyricism prose, discussion prose) and writing teaching, surrounding prose characteristic—shape dispersing but spirit concentrating in order to highlight practicality. The last part is the teaching case analysis which is an open course in my school, and the teaching effect is very good.
