New courses reform requires Chinese new textbooks, which need the creation in the design of writing and writing teaching method. Chinese textbook for senior middle school students published by Jiangsu Education Press is one of the teaching materials got through the examine by national middle school appraised committee. Its writing teaching design has given its readers a new impression. It's broken the patterns of traditional materials, which are in the order of writing styles or writing knowledge, and has created special topics for writing. Such arrangement has obvious characteristics of personality, reorganization, interaction and many choices, and it also shows that the great importance is given to the development of writing itself and the process of writing, instead of the form of writing styles. The author studies the new writing textbook of Jiangsu Education Press by comparision with the process of writing teaching practice in middle schools in China and other writing editions. Furthermore, the author has made research into the current situations concerning the new writing textbook. On the basis of the above, he puts forward some instructive suggestions about the writing design and the implementation of writing teaching, in order to improve the writing textbook, writing teaching method and the students' writing ability.
