Out Of The Woods: The Constraints Of "two Courses" Teaching And Countermeasures

"Two Courses" are the short name of Marxism theory and Moral classes. They are compulsory lessons for college students in China. It can teach and guide them to establish a scientific view of the world, their outlook on life and worth, also train them to analyze and solve practical problems according to scientific theories and have a great quality of moral. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and higher education administrative departments have paid special attention to this, however, teaching of "Two Courses" in reality are very opposite from supposed effects: students would not like to learn and teachers would not like to teach. For instance, these courses are not realistic on the level of school management, or teachers cannot easily accommodate with the demands of teaching and cannot manage the huge pressure from teaching, or students just dislike the courses so much. To think about the reasons there are factors of multi-cultural value and social transformation, lacking of scientific management ideas and measures, the contents of teaching has no strict logical systems, the way of teaching is boring and the leading role and the subjects of teachers and students don't work very well. So far as it is concerned, I learn a lot from the history of teaching Marxism theory, such as the principle of combining theories with practices, to organize a social practice, implications in teaching, oral and paper test, to consider about the influences of teachers' individual examples and so on. Besides, it is analyzed that teaching of "Two Courses" should learn the restrained function of environment correctly and focus on the teaching of "Two Courses", strengthen the construction of the subjects, establish an idea of student-based and instructions from teacher, ameliorate the way of teaching and improve the teaching effect indeed.
