Students' Information Literacy Education In The Network Environment

It's an information society in which information plays an essential role in all aspects of daily life. With the developing technology of computer and web, the size of information resource swells speedily; the rate of information-updating increases rapidly; information carriers and channels of obtaining information become much more various. At the same time, some problems have occurred, such as obsolete information, deluged information, information criminal, and so on. Therefore, it's very important to train and improve students' information literacy skills.In this paper, I try to give the development and meaning of the information literacy education in the web environment, expatiate the actualities of information literacy education development in domestic and foreign countries, and to discuss how to develop the information literacy education in web environment, then advance suggestions for completing the estimated standard and organization form of information literacy education of higher education at the end of the paper.The emphases of this paper are how to develop information literacy education in the web environment. Firstly, the course of information literacy education needs to be reformed. As for contents, we should add the knowledge of information sense and information morals, strengthen modern information technology and web resources education. As for teaching form, we should combine entity classes with online classes. Teachers should have higher literacy.Secondly, we should make good use of the library for advancing the information literacy of the undergraduates. Making sure that they are familiar with the library resources of library, and organizing the undergraduates to take part in the construction of the library, making the library web can embody the characters of information request and information searches, helping the undergraduates make full use of the library information consult services, and improving their ability of using information with the librarian's help. Encouraging librarian to work in the information literacy education. What's more, The library may develop the activity of freshmen entrance education, special lectures, choosing literatures, and improve the undergraduates' information literacy in multiple ways, only this can the college library play the main force role in the process of information literacy education totally.Thirdly, we should set up the teaching environment of information literacy education, synthesize information literacy education and subject education, and combine information literacy education with college culture.
