To foster thinking habits and improve thinking ability is an important task of chemistry teaching, the demand of the education for all-round development and the key that raises the quality of chemistry teaching. The training of thinking ability should begin with the development of thinking quality, which is carried out in an all-round way and follows a proper sequence. Mind Mapping is an approach which embodies divergent thinking and guides students in constructing the knowledge system on their own. Since Mind Mapping approach and the concept based on the theory of thinking visualization were introduced into the field of education, it has brought a positive effect upon teaching and education. It has been an important tool in developing and improving students' thinking quality, as well as in stimulating and guiding students' creative thinking. This research aims at discussing how to apply Mind Mapping in order to make complicated, forgettable and scattered chemical knowledge in senior high school intuitive, visualized, logical and systematic in human brain; to cultivate the students' scientific study attitude, to help students effectively understand and memorize chemical knowledge and put it into practice, so as to increase the students' interest and achievements in learning. It mainly adopts documentation, experimentation and argumentation. The research indicates that Mind Mapping accords with the cognition and development of high school students in chemistry learning. Applying Mind Mapping can not only enable students to master the memorizing contents of chemistry, but also promote the communication and cooperation among students and the cultivation of students' thinking quality.
